Art on Site was a 3 week public exhibition staged in a San Francisco residence which was being renovated in preparation for sale. The kitchen was in the back of the house, with a window that looked out onto a courtyard and a small rental apartment in a derelict carriage house. A discrete brass telescope placed on the kitchen counter pointed out the window towards the carriage house. Looking through the telescope into the front window of the carriage house, a visitor discovers that she is also being watched: she sees her own grainy image on a small television, captured by a hidden cctv camera in the kitchen.
